What a year it’s been! Highs, lows, triumphs, and challenges – it seems like 2024 has thrown it all at the business community, and, to be honest, we’re ready for the summer break. Especially because we seem to (in our opinion) have some of the best little holiday spots up our sleeves! We’re an international bunch, so while not all of these places are in New Zealand, they are all 100% worth taking the time to visit if you get the chance. Take it away, team…

New York – Rosina

My ultimate holiday spot? Hands down, New York! And guess what? This year, I’m making it happen!

It’s been a dream of mine to experience a winter Christmas (fingers crossed for snow!) with all the magic of twinkling lights, ice skating, jaw-dropping store windows, and the buzz of Times Square on New Year’s Eve.

I can’t wait—bring it on, NYC!

Waiheke Island – Ashton

My favourite place is Waiheke Island, and here’s why:

  • Beautiful beaches: It’s the perfect spot to spend quality time with my family.
  • Stunning vineyards and restaurants: I am passionate about great food and wine, especially when they’re perfectly paired.
  • Convenient location: It’s so easy to get to from Auckland, yet it feels like you’ve escaped to another country.

Coopers Beach – Rachel

Hard to get to but well worth the drive, I absolutely love Coopers Beach, tucked up in the Far North. The beach is heaven, with beautiful turquoise water, golden sand, and Pohutukawa trees lining the 2km stretch. It’s one of those true Kiwi spots, where upon arrival, your cares just melt away.

Opuke Thermal Hot Pools – Hailey

Down here in Canterbury, everyone knows about Hanmer Springs. But there’s another, lesser-known place that I like to visit called Opuke Thermal Hot Pools, based in Methven. The thermal water is sourced from the foot of the Southern Alps, and the view of the mountains is absolutely stunning. It’s actually a great little jaunt year-round, so not only a treat throughout the summer holidays, but perfect in the winter after a day up Mt Hutt to soak your tired muscles!

What are your favourite holidays spots? No matter where they may be, we hope you have a wonderful summer holiday!
